The only viable solution then is for the Israelis to declare that - either the official refusal of the Lebanese Government to disarm Hezbollah - or the de facto policy being followed by its soldiers in the field - already constitutes an abrogation of the cessation-of-hostilities agreement on their part, and then go finish the job. And to do that before the Foreign troops arrive.

I might have said this is an elegant argument, were not about the vital and urgent matter of assuring the continued existence of a strong Israeli nation. The content wth which it's laden wrenches it entirely from any rhetorical or theoretical sphere it might have inhabited in the very urgency of its call to action and support. I'm with you on this, entirely! You may be interested to know some of my (rather pronouncedly) left-entrenched friends
also are with you on this. Seems not to
be breaking so decidedly into a L/R isssue, for once. All for the better, I'd say.
