As always, you've been very clear about the situation as you see it, and where you believe America is heading. Why do you think things can only result in one extreme, full-blown Marxism?
I do think Obama's ascent to the Presidency, along with many other present and past instances of people growing up with little but achieving a lot, stands as an emphatic symbol that reaches everyone in this country. The ability to automatically blame others for one's inability to progress in life on the basis of race suddenly has become less a given than some, of varied race, in the past have assumed. Regardless of one's political beliefs, Americans can take pride in the breaking of the race barrier, whatever the eventual negatives and positives of the Obama administration turn out to be.
